About the Opportunity

We are excited to be partnering with a national client strategically positioned for their next phase of growth. At a pivotal time, this exceptional opportunity has emerged for a highly experienced National Payroll Manager to join a values-driven and customer-centric team.

Reporting to the CFO, this integral opportunity will shape our clients' payroll infrastructure, ensuring good governance, systems and processes are embedded to enable future growth and acquisitions.

It's an exciting time to join this business with just under 1,500 employees and growing.

Our client is seeking a National Payroll Manager to lead a small and talented team, play an important role in the transition from Preceda to UKG Payroll system, while ensuring that end-to-end payroll delivery runs seamlessly across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team responsible for processing fortnightly and monthly pay.
  • Ensure payroll tax, superannuation, and Fair Work obligations are met.
  • Amalgamate payroll systems and develop payroll processes to improve efficiency.
  • Build capability with direct reports and frontline managers, in particular with EA and Award changes.
  • Partner with the People and Culture team to operationalise EA and Award changes in the Payroll and Time/Attendance system.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to enhance service delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant payroll operations experience, including 5 years + in a management capacity ideally within the aged care or healthcare sector.
  • Proven experience in interpretation of EA's and Awards within a complex environment.
  • Strong expertise and familiarity with payroll software/ HRIS (e.g. Payroll Metrics, UKG Ready considered an advantage) and MS Office - Excel.

  • End-to-end payroll processing experience - PAYG, superannuation, workers compensation across multiple jurisdictions, and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business.
  • A mindset for improvement - enjoys process mapping and development to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Exposure to payroll system implementation project ideal.
