SKL Technology is currently searching for a motivated
Infrastructure Engineer
to join our growing client within their ICT Services Division.

The role involves designing, implementing, managing, and optimising infrastructure across on-premises, virtualised, and cloud environments.

You will work closely with internal technical teams and external vendors to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable infrastructure solutions that support business applications and enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain on-premises, virtualised, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Manage Windows Server environments (Active Directory, ADFS, IIS).
  • Administer and optimise Linux systems (Ubuntu / RHEL).
  • Automate and script using PowerShell or similar tools.
  • Support virtualisation platforms (VMware vSphere).
  • Manage SQL Server databases, including upgrades and optimisation.
  • Maintain storage and backup solutions (e.g. Dell Networker, Isilon).
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare technical documentation and ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Follow security, testing, and change-management procedures.

Essential Criteria

  • Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise Microsoft infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure and cloud solutions.
  • Solid understanding of ICT security, compliance, and configuration management.
  • Skilled in scripting and automation (PowerShell).
  • Hands-on experience with VMware or similar virtualisation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven teamwork and documentation capabilities.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with Linux (Ubuntu / Red Hat using Satellite).
  • Knowledge of automation/orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Exposure to containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with security tools (WSUS, SCCM, Nessus, Nmap, SELinux, firewalls).
  • Ability to identify performance issues and drive improvements.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative in fast-paced environments.
