We're seeking a
Principal/ Senior Structural Engineer
to provide senior-level support across a diverse portfolio of structural engineering projects. This is a key role within our Engineering East team, offering the opportunity to work from concept through to delivery on high-impact projects primarily within in the mineral resources and mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority on structural engineering projects, delivering expert guidance across all phases from scoping studies to detailed design and execution.
  • Mentor and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence, professional growth, and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead structural analysis, design reviews, and peer reviews to ensure robust, innovative, and compliant solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal disciplines, external stakeholders, and clients to align on project objectives and deliver optimal outcomes.
  • Work closely with the drafting team to ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely drawing outputs.
  • Drive compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, industry best practices, and legislative requirements.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) & RPEQ accreditation.
  • 10+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering, with demonstrated expertise across studies, detailed design, and execution phases on major projects.
  • Robust experience in consultancy across Australian Mining and Minerals sector.
  • Proven technical leadership on complex, multidisciplinary projects, with experience in design assurance and peer review processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a history of building trusted client and partner relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and time management skills.
  • Innovative, risk-based approach to engineering challenges and a commitment to continuous improvement.
