The Opportunity

Monash University seeks an accomplished professional to lead and enhance risk management across the Monash Group. This includes central divisions, faculties, controlled entities, and international campuses.

In this pivotal role, you will design and deliver an integrated Group Risk Strategy. You will provide expert insight into strategic and operational risks, enabling informed, confident decisions at every level.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Extensive experience managing strategic and operational risks in large and complex organisations, with deep expertise in enterprise risk frameworks and their application across diverse settings.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain productive relationships with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership, influencing outcomes on complex or sensitive risk matters.
  • Strong analytical capability to prepare and present concise, evidence-based reports and advice for executive leaders and governance committees.
  • Leadership excellence in cultivating a positive and accountable risk culture through targeted training, engagement and initiatives that embed shared responsibility at all levels.
  • Comprehensive expertise across strategic, operational, technological, financial, and ESG risk domains, with the ability to apply deep, integrated knowledge to complex and evolving organisational challenges.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification and at least five years of senior experience in risk management, supported by a record of driving strategic change and continuous improvement.
