Working at One Tree you need determination and an ability to 'think and work outside the box'. Your first job will be to get our policies and associated documents up to date. Next, we want them transformed into easy to understand documents suitable for a broad audience.

*About the Role* This role is central to fostering a strong culture of quality improvement, supported by robust Quality and Risk Management frameworks.

You will contribute to maintaining our ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Management Systems certification, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing risk and workplace health & safety processes, and developing organisational systems, protocols, and guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and updating existing organisational documents.
• Researching and drafting new policies, procedures, and related documents.
• Writing in clear, plain English tailored to the intended audience.
• Ensuring policies comply with relevant regulatory, legislative, and quality standards.
• Providing expert advice on policy matters, including monitoring and evaluating regulatory changes.
• Supporting ISO certification processes.

• Up to six weeks paid leave (including four weeks annual leave).
• Ability to work from home and office. Tuesday and Wednesday in the office at our Sunshine West location
• A laptop

You will need

• A related tertiary qualification with experience or a minimum of five years' experience as a policy writer.
• Ability to write a range of documents.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to write using Plain English principles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Management Systems standards, legislation, frameworks and tools to support quality, risk management and compliance
• A willingness to work in accordance with One Tree's spirit, purpose and values.

It would be preferred if you also had:

• Knowledge of the early childhood sector and/or the not for profit industry.
• Knowledge of working in an accredited International Standards Organisation.
• Understanding of working in a highly regulated industry.
