About The Role
The Test Lead plays a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of all aspects of project testing for NEM Retail. It is critical to have highly experienced Test lead on board across each project to ensure that all testing is conducted in line with quality practices and enable delivery of software that is reliable and secure for complex systems, as well as help optimise the use of environments for testing across projects.

What You Will Be Doing

• Lead the strategic direction, governance, and execution of system testing and quality assurance practice
• Support various test phases including penetration testing, industry testing, and test data setup.
• Collaborate with the Environment and Release Manager to ensure availability of test environments for functional, regression, and UAT testing.
• Work closely with the Test Manager to ensure successful delivery of both project and BAU testing outcomes.
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance on manual and automated testing efforts, with a preference for candidates experienced in UI and API automation using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and ReadyAPI.
• Drive the team's automation and performance testing initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Lead the maintenance and enhancement of automated test suites, and mentor team members to uplift automation capabilities across the team.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Extensive in software testing, including demonstrable experience in a Test Lead role.
• Experience in the National Electricity Market (NEM), utility sector, or AEMO Retail Systems (MSATS, EMDM) is highly desirable
• Proven experience in leading IT projects, developing test strategies, and managing estimates and schedules.
• Proficiency in test management tools such as Jira, PractiTest, and ServiceNow.
• Hands-on experience with Azure applications (e.g., AKS, Function App, Databricks).
• Familiarity with system and technical requirements in regulated, multi-system environments.
• Experience in BDD API automation framework using the following tech stack, .NET SDK, SpecFlow, RestSharp, Log4net, Scriban
• Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Proven experience leading automation initiatives (UI and API frameworks) and managing automation resources, preferably with hands-on use of tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Postman, and ReadyAPI, combined with working knowledge of CI/CD.
• Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner) and ability to guide performance testing strategy and execution.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex testing efforts across web-based, client-server, and batch applications.
• Strong working knowledge of Azure services such as Cosmos DB, AKS, Function Apps, and Databricks.
