About the role
- Process complex and litigated claims nationally, whilst managing the performance of external legal providers.
- Ensure that claims are settled in an economic manner and strive to manage professional partnerships to ensure timely and cost-effective decisions are made.
- Maximise recovery income and manage down settlement amounts by negotiating with Recovery Agents and Solicitors representing third parties.
- Evaluate claims to determine if they are viable to defend, issue proceedings on, and subsequently engage external legal counsel.
- Handle complex or difficult demands through the application of experience and advanced negotiation skills.
- Maintain records and activity trackers of litigated matters in accordance with AAL protocol and regulatory obligations.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or industry accreditations.
- Significant experience managing complex claims, ideally within the insurance, litigation, or financial services industry.
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights, and evaluate options for commercial decision-making.
- Ability to recognise, avert, manage, and escalate conflicts to enable effective and timely resolution in accordance with organisational processes.
- Ability to make independent as well as collaborative decisions during expected or unexpected situations and then take responsibility for the consequences of decisions taken.
- Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders to establish strong professional relationships and influence outcomes.
- Demonstrated evidence of technical proficiency with systems, software, databases, reporting, and communication tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-level negotiation capability to support engaging with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact, and influence.
- A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
