The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced ICT Network Architect to join a high-profile program based at Parliament House. This long-term engagement offers the chance to lead the design, build, and assurance of enterprise-scale broadcast network environments.

Working in a hybrid environment (3+ days onsite), you will collaborate with diverse teams including Infrastructure, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Broadcasting Operations, providing both leadership and hands-on expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and remediate current network topologies; deliver target architectures
  • Design and implement future-state spine-leaf fabric with redundancy
  • Build unified management layers (naming, RBAC, configuration standards)
  • Engineer VLAN/ACL/VRF segmentation; implement domain segregation
  • Integrate monitoring/alerting with SolarWinds, Splunk, and related tools
  • Conduct failover and performance testing; document and hand over reports
  • Provide knowledge transfer, operations guides, and change procedures
  • Deliver specialist advice for upcoming projects and initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Degree in IT/Engineering (or equivalent) with 5+ years enterprise networking
  • Hands-on with L2/L3 (OSPF/IS-IS/BGP), multicast, QoS/DiffServ
  • Proven design/operation of spine-leaf fabrics with redundancy
  • Experience with cloud-based architecture, routing, switching, VPNs, DMZs
  • Skilled in troubleshooting with Wireshark and telemetry diagnostics
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Experience in government or large enterprise environments as a contractor
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE highly regarded

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with live production/broadcast networks (deterministic, low latency)
  • Understanding of SMPTE ST 2110, DANTE, AES-67, and related protocols
  • Knowledge of PTP (IEEE 1588) with SMPTE ST 2059-2
