Position Overview

As an Early Childhood Educator at Smart Start, you will be the guiding star for our young learners, leading them through their first experiences with the world around them. You will design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Above all, you will nurture each child's individuality and support them as they take their first steps on the journey of lifelong learning.

Key Responsibilities

· Support our Lead Educators to plan, implement, and evaluate a variety of play-based learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.

· Build warm, respectful, and responsive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

· Foster a positive service environment where every child feels safe, supported, and heard.

· Promote a culture of inclusion and respect for diversity, recognising and valuing each child's family, background, and abilities.

· Collaborate with fellow educators to continuously improve teaching strategies and learning environments.

· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements at all times.

· Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices and new research in early childhood education.

Essential Criteria

· Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

· Current Working With Children Check.

· Demonstrated experience in an early childhood or childcare setting.

· In-depth understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with children and adults alike.

· Commitment to reflective practice, professional growth, and teamwork.

· First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma Management certification (or willingness to obtain).
