Building Industry Training Pty Ltd (BIT) is a top 10 registered training organisation (RTO #40785) in Australia and is building its presence across Queensland and Northern NSW from is Gold Coast Headquarters. With offices in the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Rockhampton, BIT is looking to attract self-starters with a passion to drive business growth and market development.

Position Overview:

As a Business Development Officer (BDO), you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and business opportunities for our RTO. Your main responsibilities will include identifying new markets, building and maintaining relationships with corporate clients, developing partnerships, and working closely with our training delivery teams to ensure alignment with client needs.

Our Business Development Officers are supplied with an attractive salary package including super and a vehicle for work use.

To perform the role, BDO's will:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the organisation's student and employer base.
  • Present and promote RTO services to prospective clients and stakeholders.
  • Direct market our services and products at various locations and using a range of methods.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with corporate clients, industry leaders, and community partners including ACAP's, GTO's, Schools, Industry Bodies and Councils.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships through exceptional service and consistent follow-up.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Develop tailored training solutions that meet client needs, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement.
  • Formulating marketing strategies to recruit new students and maintain existing students. This can include developing new marketing materials to suit those strategies.

  • Achieve set sales targets and KPIs.

  • Organising and attending trade shows and other information events relative to the marketing of the business.

  • Providing support to the office team in obtaining employer/supervisor qualifications and liaising with clients on their behalf to obtain relevant information and resolve issues, as required.
  • Researching, analysing and reporting data to inform current and future marketing opportunities and emerging trends.

We allocate BDO's to regions based on your home locations, but travel is a necessary part of the role and full time BDO's are supplied with a work vehicle as part of the remuneration package.

BDO's may use any of our offices to meet and complete their paperwork. There is a requirement to visit the Gold Coast headquarters at least once a month to meet with the Business Development Manager and/or other team members/leaders.

Role Requirements

We place a significant emphasis on trade knowledge, communication skills, teamwork and the ability to work independently, follow compliance procedures and be proactive in engaging within and outside of the business.

To become part of our growing team, applicants need to have the following:-

·      Relevant experience in an equivalent role.

·      Be able to obtain or currently hold a current White Card.

·      Be able to obtain a Blue Card or currently hold a Blue Card.

·      A current Driver's licence.

·      Experience with Microsoft Office products and computers.

·      Excellent verbal and communication skills.

·      Demonstrate mathematical and written skills commensurate with the role.

·      Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident Visa.

·      Pass a National Police Check.

·      Be physically able to meet the requirements of the role.

·      A confident, calm and patient nature with an outgoing personality.

·      Strong interpersonal skills and a team player who will maintain our reputation in delivering quality training.

·      Demonstratable sales results in an equivalent role.

·      Previous team or site leadership experience.
