Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead with strong expertise in API testing and Rest Assured framework. The ideal candidate will lead automation initiatives, design robust test strategies, and mentor the QA team to ensure high-quality delivery across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts for APIs using Rest Assured.


• Define and implement test automation frameworks and best practices.


• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into test scenarios.


• Drive continuous integration (CI/CD) testing practices with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.


• Perform functional, regression, performance, and security testing of APIs.


• Review and optimize existing automation scripts for efficiency and maintainability.


• Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and accountability.


• Provide detailed test reports, metrics, and quality dashboards to stakeholders.


• Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational quality processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.


• 10 years of experience in software testing, with at least 3 years in test automation leadership.


• Strong hands-on experience with Rest Assured for API automation.


• Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.


• Solid understanding of API protocols (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and tools like Postman, Swagger.


• Experience with test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).


• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests.


• Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Serenity) is a plus.


• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills


• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).


• Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).


• Knowledge of containerization and microservices testing (Docker, Kubernetes).


• Understanding of security testing for APIs (OAuth, JWT, penetration testing basics).
