About the role:

The Technical Services team is currently seeking a Coordinator Technician Mine Geology to join them on an 8/6 days only FIFO Roster based at the Roy Hill Mine. Reporting to the Supervisor Mine Geology, you will support them in coordinating the daily mining duties while ensuring the highest standards of production data quality and integrity. Engaging with a diverse range of Mine Geology stakeholders, you will maximise ore recovery and minimise ore loss and be responsible for acquiring and tracking high-quality geological and production data to optimise mining operations and achieve long-term Mine Geology objectives.


Duties:

  • Assist the supervisor in leading and mentoring the technician team, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with the mine plan and business objectives
  • Prioritise and coordinate daily tasks to achieve long-term goals, and foster a culture of collaboration 
  • Collaborate with technical services and the mining teams to coordinate daily tasks, ore recovery, and contamination investigations
  • Assist the Supervisor in training new starters on mine geology best practices, and ensure processes are current
  • Assist with reporting and managing of systems for tracking performance metrics
  • Attend and present at Mining PSI and production meetings, and coordinate inspections of pit face, ROM, waste dump, and stockyard
  • Assist with sample collection, consumables management, logistical support, geotechnical duties, and ensure accurate tracking data, while responding to ad hoc field support request

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in field-based production mining activities, including digger, ROM, and waste dump inspections
  • Experience working in an open-pit mining production environment with experience in the daily duties and objectives of the mine geology department
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Current manual 'C' class driver's license
  • An ability and flexibility to adapt to conflicting demands and priorities  
  • Exposure to Vulcan, AMPLA, Max Return, WENCO
