Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Retail Accountant to take charge of the finances for several of our retail businesses within our busy shopping centre. This role will suit a hands-on professional who enjoys working across diverse businesses, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and insightful analysis to support growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple retail entities.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Coordinate BAS, income tax, and other statutory obligations.
  • Provide budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes across businesses.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) preferred.

  • Proven experience in accounting within the retail, property, or shopping centre industry.

  • Experience managing accounts across multiple businesses or entities.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, Yardi, or similar) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise, and manage competing deadlines.
