About The Role
Join a collaborative and supportive team that plays a vital role in shaping Australia's renewable energy future. In this role, you'll be part of a motivated group dedicated to the safe, efficient, and sustainable monitoring and control of renewable energy assets.
We're looking for someone who values teamwork, attention to detail, and delivering high standards—while also appreciating a workplace that respects work-life balance, professional growth, and diversity of thought.
This position operates on a rotating roster, shared fairly among the team to ensure balanced coverage and time for life outside of work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor & Control: Use SCADA systems to oversee renewable assets, responding to events in the Australian National Electricity Market.
- Stay Proactive: Respond to plant and market notifications while working closely with your teammates to keep operations running smoothly.
- Connect with Stakeholders: Build relationships with Transmission and Network Service Providers (TNSP), AEMO, and other key partners.
- Weather & Safety: Monitor forecast systems, issue alerts, and respond to emergency calls with calm and confidence.
- Insights & Reporting: Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports, helping inform smarter decisions.
- Maximise Availability: Work with O&M Contractors to maintain asset availability and strong operational relationships.
- Drive Improvements: Support maintenance planning, outage coordination, and ongoing improvements to systems and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Degree in engineering, data science, commerce, or a similar field.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong skills in Excel and data analysis, with a detail-oriented and thoughtful approach.
- Team Spirit: A collaborative mindset—someone who enjoys problem-solving together and supporting colleagues.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a 24/7/365 shift-based environment, with shared responsibilities across the team.
- Resilience: Able to stay focused and calm under pressure, while maintaining a positive approach.
- Communication: Clear and confident in English (spoken and written).
- Bonus Experience: Previous experience in a trading desk or control centre is highly regarded.
Why You'll Love Working With Us
- Be part of a mission-driven team contributing to the energy transition.
- Work in a supportive environment that values diversity, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Enjoy fair rostering practices that promote balance between work and personal life.
- Access opportunities to broaden your skills across renewable energy operations.
