Speech Pathologist

Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service for Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula, providing care for a population of around 300,000 people across the life continuum.

We are a major teaching and research health facility, training the next generation of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and support staff.

• Limited Term Part time until November 2026
• Children's Speech Pathologist 16 hours a fortnight to work in Child Health Team
• Classification: Speech Pathologist - Grade 1 OR Grade 2 ( Year 1-4)

On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health. A newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians.

The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

What You Will Be Doing

This role responds to children with developmental delays, within the catchment including disadvantaged communities. The role involves conducting individual assessments and interventions, as well as providing support to families and sector workers on the communication and developmental needs of children. A holistic, family-centered approach, informed by the social model of health, is a key aspect of the role. The position is predominantly centre based but may include outreach, consultancy, education and group work. In this role you facilitate referrals and linkages to other services. The Grade 2 Speech Pathologist contributes to the discipline group responsible for delivering and coordinating speech pathology services in a multidisciplinary setting

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

• Qualification in Speech Pathology and eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia

• Holder of a current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC)

• Skills and commitment to working in child-centred and family-focused practices including skills in working with vulnerable and disadvantaged families

• Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment including capacity to support staff of other disciplines

• Ability to embrace new technology to enhance productivity and effectiveness (desirable)

• Current Victorian Drivers licence (desirable)
