About Us

Established in 1983, CEA is an Australian company that designs, develops, manufactures and sustains advanced active phased array radar systems. We collaborate with Defence to develop highly modular and scalable products that have become integral to a broad range of critical Defence capabilities.

The Position

You will Maintain Quality control and assist in day to day operations in areas of Mechanical Assembly and inspection of Inward and Outward goods in the Melbourne Production area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Operate within CEA's quality standards within the Production area.
  • Ensure Quality Management System Obligations are met and ensure the development and maintenance of a strong quality culture to meet and exceed customer requirements, including visiting suppliers to discuss quality matters.
  • Provide value adding to machined parts which includes Mechanical Assembly (fitting recoils / captive fasteners).
  • Inwards and Outwards goods inspection.
  • Hand finishing of sheet metal and machined components.
  • Ensure document and stock control is up to date.
  • Packing of goods produced in-house; pickups and local deliveries.
  • Perform other factory duties as required.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Quality Control Officer, including Quality Inspection of mechanical items.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft applications including Excel/ Word at an Intermediate level.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance of Inward and Outward goods inspection.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to focus for long periods of time.
  • Mechanical aptitude including competent in use of measuring tools.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

  • An Australian Citizen;
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline
