The Position

Korowa Anglican Girls' School seeks to appoint a strategic and innovative individual to the position of Head of Junior School. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to guide and inspire the youngest learners from Early Learning through to Year 6. As a key member of a progressive Executive team, the Head of Junior School will play a central role in shaping the educational journey of students and leading a dedicated team of educators. This is a role for a leader and educator who thrives on driving a culture of integrity, courage and curiosity to foster trust, engagement and growth.

The Head of Junior School will collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver innovative programs that reflect the Korowa Learning Framework, balancing academic aspirations with the importance of play, exploration, and holistic development. With a strong presence across the Junior School and ELC, the appointee will be a visible and trusted leader, building meaningful relationships with students, staff, families and the community. The position requires strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders in a dynamic and competitive educational landscape.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished educator with experience from Early Learning to Year 6, and a proven ability to lead educational innovation and meaningful change. Demonstrating outstanding communication skills and a commitment to inclusive practice, the appointee will display a clear passion for developing staff capability and student agency. Experience in building high-performing teams, fostering a positive culture, and engaging with parents and the broader community will be essential. The successful candidate will bring warmth, empathy, and a contemporary approach to leadership, ensuring staff feel empowered and supported, and students experience a learning environment that is both challenging and nurturing.
