Production Manager Maternity Cover Contract

Larsen Jewellery was established nearly twenty years ago with a vision of providing customers direct access to a fine jewellery studio, offering a combination of exquisite workmanship and personal service. Since establishing the business, we have grown steadily and now have more than 30 staff across our studios in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Due to maternity leave, we have an opening in our Sydney studio for a Production Manager until July 2026. Whilst we can't guarantee employment after July, we will certainly consider you for any possible roles within the studio so employment is ongoing.
This could suit someone looking to get back into the jewellery industry or wanting to try a new challenge, for example coming off the bench
The Production Manager will work closely with our designers and workshop, and will be responsible for the daily production workflow. Amongst other things this involves managing production deadlines, ordering materials, liaising with the jewellers, suppliers and subcontractors, stock control and quality control at all stages of production, compiling and checking invoices and statements from suppliers.
Requirements for this role include:
- Several years experience making or working with fine jewellery such as engagement rings in 18ct and platinum using a variety of production methods including handmaking and assemblies
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are essential
- You must have the ability to multitask and think on your feet
- You must have strong interpersonal skills and be an effective communicator, as the role involves a lot of interaction with suppliers and staff
- You must have a good knowledge of jewellery production methods and gemstones
- You have a high level of integrity with a strong work ethic
- Basic knowledge of Excel required
