About the role

As an Asphalt Supervisor at State Asphalt Services Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our asphalt paving teams. Based in Sydney, NSW, this full-time position will see you managing a skilled crew to ensure the highest quality of work on our construction projects.

Reporting to the Asphalt Operations Manager, you will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the asphalt team, plant and resources to deliver asphalt projects to meet client quality and delivery requirements.

The role is:

  • A permanent role.
  • Works will be across the Sydney metro, Greater Sydney areas and regional NSW.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of asphalt crews to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specification
  • Monitor and maintain equipment to maximise efficiency and uptime
  • Oversee the preparation and placement of asphalt materials, including monitoring temperature, compaction, and smoothness
  • Provide hands-on leadership and training to upskill your team
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise
  • Communicate project progress, costs, and quality control

What we're looking for

  • Experience as an Asphalt Supervisor within the construction industry
  • Possess a strong commitment to safety.
  • Strong technical knowledge of asphalt production, paving, and quality control procedures
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop your team
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Possess a minimum C class licence and General Construction Induction Card – White Card.
  • VOC tickets would be highly desirable.
  • Be expected to successfully pass a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol test.
  • The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable, fit, energetic, and able to work in a team environment but also able to lead and work autonomously.
