Nightshift Supervisor

As a Nightshift Supervisor, you will oversee our linemarking crews and activities during night shifts. You'll be responsible for managing staff performance, ensuring work is completed safely, to specification, and at the required quality. A strong understanding of Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), Road Occupancy Licences (ROLs), and general traffic management is essential. The role also includes providing support with day-to-day operational tasks, including assisting in the development and review of TGSs.

Typically a 12-hour shift from 4pm to 4am, 5 days per week (Sunday-Thursday) with option of additional nights. Vehicle will be provided.

Duties would include:

• Ensuring safety is at the forefront of all our activities
• Directing and guiding operators and their activities for their assigned area during shift
• Conduct training and develop capability of employees to achieve optimal skills levels on shift
• Carry out appropriate shift handover duties, by providing email update on the shifts activities and issues
• Working through operational issues on shift & ensuring quality compliance actions are completed in a timely manner
• Understanding of industry specifications
• Ensuring adherence to standard work processes and Avante systems and policies
• Daily communication with Operations team
• Participate in nightly crew leader meeting
• Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan Course (PWZ)

Requirements:

• Construction Industry white card (Must Have)
• Must have current and valid driver's licence
• Must have PWZ ticket (Prepare Work Zone)
• Pre-Employment Fit for Work & Drug Test
• Work is predominantly Nightshift Sunday to Thursday with over time required on a regular basic (Friday and Saturday optional)
• Available to work away from home in rural regions from time to time

About yourself:

• Ideally experience in Linemarking, Traffic Management or Civil / Asphalting sector
• We are looking for someone experienced in designing, implementing, and modifying Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs).
• Proven ability to effectively manage people - there are up to 50 people on shift
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills - someone who can be courageous and have the tough conversations when necessary
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong problem solving ability
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others and work as part of a team & cross functionally to drive better outcome for your team and shift.
• Confident & well mannered
• Self-motivated with good time management skills
• Team player
• Strong commitment to Safety
• Ability to read and understand plans (Advantageous)
• Must be an Australian Resident or have the 'right to work in Australia'
