We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Human Resources Advisor (AO7) to join our team within the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism. This is a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to initiatives that enhance leadership capability, workplace culture, and safety while supporting the employment lifecycle of Senior Executive Service (SES)

roles.

As a Principal Human Resources Advisor, you will oversee the full SES employment lifecycle, including recruitment, contracts, remuneration, and performance management, ensuring compliance with governing legislation. Additionally, you will lead or contribute to HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that promote inclusion, diversity, and a psychologically safe workplace culture. Your responsibilities will also include monitoring workforce data and preparing high-level briefings, reports, and submissions for executive-level audiences, while supporting the organisation in embedding cultural competence and safety through training, education, and professional development.

We are seeking a dynamic professional with strong communication and project management skills, capable of engaging effectively with senior executives and diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the Public Sector Act 2022 and other relevant legislation, along with experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that maximise inclusion and diversity. You should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and demonstrate cultural competence, particularly in engaging with Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising their unique lived experiences. Our workplace values diversity and inclusion, embracing a multiplicity of viewpoints that enrich our team and the communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, including Aboriginal peoples, Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

This is a permanent, flexible full-time role based in Brisbane, offering the chance to work in a collaborative, high-performing environment. You'll report to the Manager, HR Strategy and Programs, and play a key role in shaping the future of our workforce.
