The opportunity and your impact

As our highly valued Human Resources Advisor (AO5), you will contribute to ensuring a bright future for Queensland, Australia and our global partners. You will do this with people who want you to grow and progress.

Reporting to Principal HR Advisor, you'll will have the opportunity to provide advice and support across a wide range of human resource functions, ensuring alignment with legislation and departmental policy. You will be part of a team of experienced HR practitioners and will have the opportunity to support and lead a range of projects across all disciplines within the HR function including Industrial Relations, Recruitment and Selection, and Learning and Development.

Based in Brisbane
, here's what your role will involve:

  • Provide generalist HR advice on operational human resource management matters that aligns with legislative and departmental requirements. This will extend across the full range of human resource management functions, including but not limited to: establishment management; recruitment and selection protocols and processes; employment conditions and employee support and engagement
  • Coordinate key employment lifecycle processes such as onboarding, induction, probation, exits, and associated documentation.
  • Contribute to regular Business Partnering meetings for a nominated client group to deliver HR data and key messages.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of agency-wide HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects, including the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Foster strong relationships and partnerships with stakeholders across and outside of TIQ to support strategic HR outcomes.
  • Support workforce planning and operational decision-making by interpreting and analysing HR data and reports.
  • Provide responsive support to HR colleagues and business partners to help drive positive business outcomes.
  • Maintain up to date HR records, trackers and organisational charts.

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies and practices, in relation to contemporary human resource practice, particularly within the Queensland Public Sector.
  2. A proactive approach to problem-solving and theability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and integrity
  3. Demonstrated strong work ethic, adaptability, performance and productivity and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders to collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a respectful, supportive work environment that promotes continuous improvement.
