Electrical Designer

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and reliable Electrical Designer who is enthusiastic, has a strong work ethic and is process driven to join our team.

About the Opportunity:

Avida is looking for someone with experience in harness design or industry experience as a technician working on Off-Grid DC electrical systems looking to transfer to a design role. A good theoretical and practical understanding of DC electrical systems is a must. Experience with drafting software is good to have but not essential

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering the next generation of Avidas Electrical systems.

You will be responsible for designing, testing and fault finding electrical harnesses and RV electrical systems for manufacture by our in house electrical manufacturing team.

You will be working with 12, 24 and 48V electrical systems, 240v Inverters, DCDC, ACDC and MPPT Chargers. Including fully and Semi off grid solar battery backed designs.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Produce, and modify, electrical harnesses and form board drawings, cut lists and other relevant electrical documentation for manufacturing.

• Producing models, diagrams and documentation of electrical systems.

• Ensure the electrical designs/specifications comply with Australian Electrical Standards.

• Get hands-on and oversee any harness manufacture – plus debugging issues.

• Work closely with the electrical assembly teams to facilitate the implementation of our designs in ways that ensure quality of manufacture.

• Identify and participate in process rationalisation and standardisation projects that deliver production benefits and increased throughput.

• Identify and participate in quality improvement initiatives in the electrical system and processes that improves reliability and robustness.

• Creation and updating of BOMs.

• Maintain housekeeping standards.

• Where required assist customer relations in solving issues raised by customers by providing information and advice.

All About You:

• Practical and hands-on experience in Auto Electrical, Residential or Commercial electrical trades is a must have;

• Experience with battery backed DC electrical systems in industry is a must have;

• Harness design experience, both 240v, 48V, 24v and 12v is ideal;

• SOLIDWORKS mechanical and Cadonix Arcadia experience would be looked on favourably;

• Tertiary qualifications (Diploma/ Certificate/ Degree) in Engineering, or an Electrical Trade is desirable;

• Experience working within a manufacturing environment is desirable;

• Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel;

• Strong verbal and written communication skills;

• 'Can-do' attitude with a focus on precision and accuracy.
