What you'll do

  • Provide support to Biomedical Technology Consultants and the Senior Consultant Biomedical Engineer in the development of state-wide service improvement initiatives to ensure the ability of BTS to continue to provide appropriate and sustainable quality biomedical services to clients, stakeholders, and patients.
  • Contribute to the continual development and improvement of technical policies, procedures and practices and assist with the management of the wider development of technical competence; nurturing a team commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement (in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification requirements).
  • Contribute to the development, delivery and continual improvement of technical training and credentialing across BTS.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical staff, equipment suppliers, service providers, team members and managers, to achieve service delivery objectives.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

  • An Associate Diploma (generally graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), tertiary, or equivalent formal qualification(s) in the field of Engineering.
  • The licences, certifications and accreditations required to carry out activities within the relevant discipline areas, or willingness and ability to make significant progress towards obtaining such during the first 6 months of employment. For example: Restricted Electrical Work Licence.
  • A current C Class Drivers License.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge and practical skills in the service and support of health technology equipment, including relevant regulatory requirements, methods and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various forms and work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including technical and professional staff, senior management, health professionals, manufacturers, suppliers, and training providers.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and document technical service resources that support consistent practice and contribute to standardised deliver of service.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to technical projects, advisory groups and work programs to achieve outcomes within designated timeframes and resource constraints.
