About the Role

We're seeking an AWS Expert to join a forward-thinking data and cloud transformation initiative focused on building scalable, event-driven, and AI-enabled data solutions. This is a 4-month contract based in Perth. The role offers an opportunity to lead the design and development of modern serverless data pipelines, integrating advanced AI/ML capabilities across key business functions.

In this hands-on position, you'll architect and implement AWS serverless workflows, automate infrastructure deployment through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and deliver production-grade data and AI integrations. You'll work closely with data engineers, software developers, and AI specialists to build secure, high-performance, and cost-optimised cloud solutions.

You Should Have

  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, and Reporting concepts
  • Experience with AWS Lambda and Step Functions for scalable workflow orchestration
  • Solid understanding of Python for data and serverless development
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Familiarity with AWS IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and X-Ray
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and data visualisation best practices
  • Strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, OOP, and Git version control

Nice to Have

  • Experience deploying AI/ML models (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face) on AWS Lambda
  • Knowledge of MLOps principles including model versioning, monitoring, retraining
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors or HR data systems
  • Understanding of data analytics and applying machine learning techniques to solve business problems

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement serverless data workflows using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and other AWS services
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and reporting solutions leveraging Python and Power BI
  • Define and automate infrastructure through IaC frameworks (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK)
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support serverless deployments
  • Integrate and optimise AI/ML models within AWS environments for real-world applications
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance application performance, cost efficiency, and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions
