We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our aged care team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 1.5 year of experience in preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with residents' dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine foodstuffs to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
  • Prepare, cook, and season food according to menus and dietary requirements.
  • Portion and plate meals attractively, adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
  • Store food in temperature-controlled facilities following food safety standards.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements as needed.
  • Support and train kitchen staff and apprentices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 to 1.5 years of relevant work experience in an aged care or commercial kitchen.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and dietary requirements.
  • Compassionate attitude and ability to work as part of a caring team.
