Position Details:

Salary range dependent on years of experience in line with the CEWA Non-Teaching EBA and Salary Schedules

Position 1 - Canteen Assistant 0.4FTE Part-time, ongoing (Tuesday and Wednesday, 7.5 hours per day)

Position 2 - Childcare Cook 0.2FTE Part-time, ongoing (Tuesday (flexible on day), 5 hours per day)

Position details:
Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream school catering for children in our 3-Year-Old Early Learning Centre (ELC) through to Year 6. The school currently accommodates nearly 740 students, with a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants and administrators. The school is situated in the Centre of Rockingham and is easily accessible from the suburbs of Rockingham, Safety Bay, Waikiki, Warnbro, Baldivis, Port Kennedy, Shoalwater and Cooloongup.

We are seeking applications for an enthusiastic, organised Canteen Assistant and Childcare Cook for positions within our school and care centres. You'll be supported by a dedicated team, including the Business Manager, and supervisors to support you in your role.

Your responsibilities as for the positions will include:

· Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are healthy, varied and appealing to young children.

· Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely, following all relevant food safety regulations and Centre policies and procedures.

· Implement and assist with planning menus that meet the dietary needs of the children, including any allergies or cultural requirements.

· Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including managing food and equipment inventory.

· Collaborate with all stakeholders to support the overall health and well-being of the children.

· Relay important information to the Leadership Team and implement new policy and regulation changes associated within your role.

· Work as part of culinary team and provide cover for relief when required.

· Assist with the weekly stock takes and ordering of food, kitchen and cleaning items.

· Assist with the SDS management, updating Centre folders if and when required.

· Oversee practices relating to Food Safety and related procedures within the Care Centres and complete regular audits for Centre reflection and improvement.

· Assist Supervisors with the updating of documentation relating to food allergens and medical conditions.

Selection Criteria:

· Demonstrated experience cooking in a licensed kitchen or similar setting.

· Knowledge of child nutrition and food safety regulations.

· Strong organisational and time management skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications Required: (if applicable)

· Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential or willing to obtain)

· First Aid Qualification – HLTAID012/HLTAID009 (Preferrable)

· Cookery or hospitality qualification (Preferrable)

· Early Childhood or OSHC Qualification (Preferrable)
