Purchase Order Procurement Officer – Job Description

Position Title: Purchase Order Procurement Officer

Reports to: Finance Manager / Procurement Manager

Location: [Yarraville Office]

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end purchase order process, from requisition to supplier payment.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure best pricing, terms, and quality.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in line with company policies.
  • Track and monitor outstanding orders, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier databases.
  • Assist with contract management, vendor negotiations, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Liaise with finance and operations to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support cost-control initiatives and contribute to budgeting/forecasting.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes, purchase orders, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in procurement/ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Certificate or diploma in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or finance.
  • Experience in the construction or service industry (advantageous).
