About the Opportunities

We're looking for a team member to join Akura as a Production Assistant in our precast facility based in Bathurst. Collaborating closely with the Precast Production Manager, you will undertake a hybrid role that combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on support in the factory as required. Your tasks will range from office-based duties to active participation on the production floor, ensuring seamless operations.

Experience in construction, manufacturing or production-based environments would be highly advantageous for this position, however not essential. If you are dedicated, hardworking and want to be apart of a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass both administrative and hands-on responsibilities, including:

• Monitoring systems for incoming invoice approvals and processing via Jonas.
• Assisting with scheduling, monthly stocktakes, and inspections.
• Coordinating with sales, precast managers, and project managers to meet IFC target dates and address production delays.
• Recording inspections and equipment service requirements accurately in Hammertech.
• Ordering casting items, issuing purchase orders, and tracking consumables like concrete deliveries.
• Providing hands-on assistance on the production floor as needed.
• Acting as a WHS representative, promoting a safety-first approach to ensure zero workplace injuries.
• Building strong relationships with production, project, and sales teams to facilitate effective long-range forecasts.
• Ensuring consistent application of best-practice production techniques and methods.
• Supporting the Precast Manager as needed and performing ad-hoc duties to maintain seamless operations.

About You

Skills in the following would be highly advantageous:

• Proficient administrative experience and willingness to learn
• Ability to interpret shop drawings
• A natural flair for detailed work such as carpentry, formwork or similar
• Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on quality, always seeking to deliver your best work
