Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

Juries Victoria is responsible for providing a jury system that delivers outstanding service and inspires community confidence. This responsibility is met by working with Victorian Courts to ensure the demand for juries is met and that the jury experience for citizens is valuable.
About the Role
Juries Officers are Deputy Juries Commissioners under the Juries Act 2000 (the Act) who undertake a range of administrative and quasilegal tasks to contribute to the delivery of a system of trial by jury in Victoria. The role has a high level of contact with members of the public, facilitating their administrative requirements and providing information and procedural advice relating to their jury service.
Key accountabilities include:
- Working collaboratively with the JV team and the Supreme Court and County Court judicial staff to meet the demands of jury trials and support citizens through their jury journey.
- Performing a range of administrative and quasi-legal tasks, such as answering telephone calls, responding to email enquiries, conducting audits, maintaining electronic and hardcopy records and using the Juries Act 2000 to assess the eligibility and availability of Victorian citizens randomly selected for jury service.
- Providing excellent customer service when attending to telephone, email and counter enquiries.
- Assisting in the instruction, direction, organisation, balloting and escorting of prospective jurors, to and from court.
- Liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, such as associates, tipstaves and jurors.
- Occasional travel to regional courts across Victoria to assist in the coordination of jury empanelments at those locations.
About You
- Excellent customer service.
- Enthusiasm in delivering information to groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team to achieve the collective goals.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely when providing information to key stakeholders and deal with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Experience working in an office environment is highly regarded.
- This role is based on-site.
