The Nirimba Collegiate consists of four high schools - Quakers Hill High School (7-12), Riverstone High School (7-12), Seven Hills High School (7-12), and Wyndham College
Situated on Darug land in Sydney's northwestern growth corridor, the Collegiate schools have a combined enrolment of 2650 in 2025. This includes 200 Aboriginal students and a significant proportion of students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D). The Collegiate also features a Vocational Innovation Centre (VIC), which is on the same site as Seven Hills High School. All four Collegiate schools have Inclusive Education classes, with a deputy principal Inclusion and Support based at Riverstone High School.
Stage 6 students can choose to attend Wyndham College for Years 11 and 12 or to stay at their 7-12 school. Combined, the Nirimba Collegiate schools have on average 76 Stage 6 courses on offer each year. In total, the Nirimba Collegiate schools employ 250 teaching staff and 120 administration and support staff.
The Nirimba Collegiate Deputy Principal serves the needs of students at all four schools and is responsible for facilitating collaboration between staff, assisting the four schools with subject selection for Stage 6, organisation and administration of collegiate curriculum opportunities for students, and other duties as directed by the Collegiate Management Group. The Collegiate has a Chair, a position which is shared by the four principals on an annual rotation. The Collegiate Chair is the line manager for the Collegiate Deputy Principal and administrative functions sit with the school of the Collegiate Chair principal. Office space is available at all fours schools, and the Collegiate Deputy Principal shares their time each fortnight across the schools.
Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria,
- Strong strategic leadership skills in education, enabling collaboration with executive teams, building trust-based relationships, promoting student learning opportunities, and organising professional development for staff.
- Proven ability to create, implement, monitor, and evaluate effective systems and processes that ensure high-quality program design, delivery, and results, continuously improving key transition stages and learning outcomes for diverse student groups.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills to engage all stakeholders in planning, coordinating, and delivering effective systems, processes, structures, and programs that prioritise equity and school excellence.
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
