Senior Accountant

You'll be surrounded by experienced mentors and have genuine succession to Finance Manager and Finance Director responsibilities over the coming 3 to 5 years. The Role

This position is intended to bolster technical strength across the finance function while creating room for automation and business-led improvements. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll take responsibility for statutory reporting, tax and compliance obligations, and governance support, financial accounting and overtime will have the ability to work on process improvement projects. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing financial statements from trial balance through to P&L and balance sheet
• Constructing consolidated and aggregated financial statements
• Leading the FBT process, with a focus on compilation of codes and compliance for external advisors to review.
• Managing reconciliations and supporting income tax preparation
• Liaising with auditors, advisors and ERP system consultants as required
• Contributing to budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Supporting automation and finance process improvements
• Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members where required

About You

You're a technically strong and detail-oriented accountant who enjoys structured work, tight controls, and the chance to optimise processes. You're curious, capable and committed to becoming a finance leader, not just in title but in mindset and impact. You take initiative, communicate clearly and work well in an environment where continuous improvement is not just encouraged but expected. 

You're a team player, respect SOP's but comfortable challenging the status quo. You are commercially minded and able to see the business implications from a set of financials, communicate effectively with stakeholders outside of the finance team and those within. 

Skills & Experience

• CA or CPA qualified
• 4+ years' experience in business services, audit or financial reporting roles
• Confident in preparing financial statements end to end
• Experience in FBT compliance, ideally including meal entertainment exposure
• Strong reconciliation and tax compliance capability
• Hands-on exposure to ERP systems, with an interest in finance technology and AI
• A collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in supporting and learning from others
