About the Role

We are seeking a CPA- or CA-qualified Accountant to join our Finance team as a trusted 2IC to the Finance Director. In this pivotal role, you will manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance

·       Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

·       Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation laws, and statutory obligations.

·       Liaise with external auditors and manage the year-end audit process.

Management Accounting & Analysis

·       Produce monthly management reports with variance analysis.

·       Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling processes.

·       Provide financial insights to support decision-making and cost control initiatives.

Accounts Management

·       Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.

·       Review bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.

Systems & Process Improvement

·       Maintain accounting systems, processes, and controls.

·       Assist in building a robust control environment.

·       Drive efficiency through automation and process improvement.

Compliance / Tax

·       Assist with BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation lodgements.

·       Support the preparation of income tax returns and ensure timely compliance.

About You

·       CPA-qualified (or equivalent CA).

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

·       Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar accounting role.

·       Strong technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance.

·       Experience with financial systems (Xero desirable).

·       Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

·       High ethical standards and integrity.
