What you'll be doing
The speech pathologist will be required to participate in clinical, educational and administrative activities that are required to provide an efficient and effective speech pathology service to children with communication difficulties living in the local community.
This is an exciting opportunity for an early career Speech Pathologist to work in the busy and dynamic Speech Pathology department of The Children's Hospital at Westmead. This 8 hours per week position is available from mid-October 2025 to early-January total of 13 days during this period ). We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate experience in the assessment and management of paediatric feeding and dysphagia, and communication disorders. Experience in the acute care setting or disability sector is desirable but not essential. Applicants should address the selection criteria with specific reference to their experience in paediatric feeding, dysphagia and communication disorders
About You
Describe the qualities and attributes of an ideal candidate, followed by specific skills and qualifications.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology with eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Relevant graduate clinical experience with community health / general outpatient paediatric caseloads with demonstrated ability to manage a busy and varied caseload.
- Experience managing paediatric outpatients with complex communication disorders eg severe phonological disorders, specific language impairment, ASD.
- Ability to work independently and to seek clinical advice as necessary and appropriate for safe clinical practice.
