What is your role?
As an
Acoustic Engineer
, you will design, assess, and document building and environmental acoustic solutions from early design through to construction stages. You'll carry out acoustic modelling, calculations, and site measurements, while also preparing high-quality technical reports to clearly communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions, gaining exposure to relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), and local planning requirements. You'll also undertake site inspections, measurements, and commissioning to validate acoustic design performance, while supporting clients in achieving their acoustic goals through a balance of compliance, comfort, and innovation.

About You

  • You have a
    tertiary qualification in engineering such as Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • You bring
    5+ years of industry experience in acoustic consulting or a related engineering field.
  • You have
    strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a keen interest in acoustic design and environmental noise, and a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication and report writing skills are essential.
  • Confident with Melbourne's local noise policies and experience with DA applications.
