Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with additional needs? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our Assisted School Travel team, supporting safe and respectful transport for students across the region. As a Team Leader, you'll play a dual role—providing safe and reliable transport for students and supporting a team of drivers to deliver exceptional service under the NSW Department of Education's Assisted School Travel Program.

Key Responsibilities:

Driver Duties:

  • Safely transport students along designated routes and schedules.
  • Complete daily compliance documentation (paper-based and app-based).
  • Communicate regularly with families, schools, and the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness, roadworthiness, and safety compliance.
  • Report hazards or incidents in line with WHS policies.
  • Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect.

Team Leader Duties:

  • Foster a positive team culture through informal leadership and peer support.
  • Onboard and mentor new drivers.
  • Assist with managing timesheets and leave applications.
  • Act as the operational contact in the Operations Manager's absence.
  • Maintain the vehicle fleet database and coordinate repairs.
  • Oversee driver training records and schedule First Aid/CPR refreshers.
  • Prepare welcome packs for families and information kits for drivers.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Successful application to the AST Program
  • Police Check
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to use technology ( Smart phone, Apps, Office 365)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
