The Role
Reporting directly to the Manager, this role focuses on pasture development, infrastructure development, weed management and maintenance. There is a requirement to operate plant and equipment to undertake slashing, weed mulching and foliar application of fertilisers. It requires an individual who can work unsupervised, be self-motivated and have a willingness to learn combined with a genuine desire to develop a career in regenerative agriculture.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Operation of farm machinery and equipment eg. Posi-trak, John Deere Tractor & Side by Side
- General servicing and maintenance of plant and equipment, welding/repair of plant and equipment, and property infrastructure
- Maintenance, repair, and installation of new fencing (conventional and electric) and water infrastructure
- Manufacture and spraying of biological fertiliser
- Blackberry, boxthorn, mulching and spraying when appropriate and required
- Carry out other tasks at the request of the Manager
Our clients operate a 2,800 HA property encompassing a seed stock, genetic marketing and beef cattle trading business. Located at the head of the Furracabad and Mathieson Valley's, within proximity of Glen Innes, the country consists of productive basalt soils and improved pastures.

- Optimum production versus maximum production – optimum production is always more profitable than maximum production
As the successful applicant, you will be able to work cooperatively with others in the team, be punctual and take pride in your work.
The following skill set would be ideal:
- Must be an enthusiastic team member 100% committed to a safe and inclusive workplace
- Have experience or willing to learn and accept regenerative agricultural practice
- Experience in operating a Positrak machine would be advantageous
- Experience in fencing and water maintenance, and development
- Experience with the operation of other farm machinery for all aspects of farming activities and maintenance of plant and equipment
- Ability to adapt to and overcome any unforeseen obstacles in the role
- Chemical certifications or willingness to gain
- Welding experience
- Have an open mind and a willingness to look outside the box to solve problems
- Ability to show initiative, work autonomously and passion to learn.
- Work independently
- Motivated, good communication and good team engagement
- Have 5 + years of farming experience including machinery operation
- Livestock experience is not a requirement for this role
An attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience and skills will be negotiated with the successful applicant and a comfortable 4-bedroom family home is provided on the property, electricity is included. A school bus travels within close proximity of the farm gate.
Glen Innes, located 30 km from the property, is a rural town in the magnificent New England high country of NSW. It is a major centre with all services catered for, including schools and sporting facilities. The town is surrounded by national parks and the area is known for fishing, fossicking, and bushwalking.
