Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC) is the historic home of 'Australia's Best Race', the Ladbrokes Cox Plate and plays host to the best night racing in Australasia with Ladbrokes Friday Night Lights. The Valley is considered Melbourne's most appealing spectator racecourse, offering an exciting, up-close and personal entertainment experience like no other.

In addition to racing, the Club operates a progressive hospitality portfolio including non-raceday events business, three multi-purpose entertainment venues and continues to push into new premium off-course markets through its Dean & McPherson creative catering business which includes the flagship restaurant TOTE Bar and Dining and a partnership with Melbourne Royal as the catering partner of the Melbourne Showgrounds. MVRC is currently undergoing a $2bn+ transformation project that involves developing lifestyle, recreation and leisure spaces to create an industry-leading connected precinct that will redefine the horse racing industry. Designed to make MVRC one of Melbourne's most prized sports and events destinations, the project will generate new business and tourism opportunities while elevating MVRC into the new realm for generations to come.

About the role

A unique opportunity has now arisen at The Valley to join the team in the role of Commercial Coordinator working full-time over the next three months during our most exciting time. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the role is responsible for supporting the Commercial Team with servicing of the Club's commercial partners and key stakeholders through administrative duties. This role will also support our program of community initiatives and commercial events. The position will have daily contact with corporate clients to ensure they are receiving timely and outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

• Support the Partnership Account Executive with the timely execution of partners' contract entitlements and deliverables, before, during and after their event (s)
• Assist to collate partners' information, collateral, advertising, signage and other sponsorship related materials
• Assist with new partner onboarding
• Collect, co-ordinate and collate materials for post campaign reporting
• Coordinate and book partners' hospitality and ticketing requirements
• Assist with Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pin activation and be the support liaison for race meetings
• During race meetings, work in a client servicing role that includes liaising with partners and prospective clients including assisting with post race presentations
• Assist the Commercial Team with day-to-day tasks for key activities including community initiatives and commercial events
• Assist with coordination of partner activations which come in various formats
• Assist with photographer briefs
• Racing & Fashion Lunch support including the program, gifting, show bags, set up etc.
• Community engagement event support such as "Barks of the Course"
• Member Event support - such as Young Member Cocktail Party, helping with Member Hub and transferred race meeting events

To effectively perform in the role the successful candidate must have the following skills, experience, qualifications:

• Relevant experience in client facing role ideally within a commercial or sporting landscape.
• Experience in event coordination preferred.
• Experience dealing with corporate clients.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in delivering exceptional customer service.
• A self-starter with exceptional time management skills, detail oriented and ready to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Act as an effective team member, to achieve common goals.
• Ability to work Friday night and Saturday race meetings.
• Effective use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
