About The Role This is a rare opportunity to be a partner to the business - understand our key business drivers, generate insights and future predictions and provide best-in-class finance and accounting information to support commercial business decisions. Integral to success, is to lead a dedicated, loyal and established Accounts and Payroll team
As our Chief Accountant, your key responsibilities will be:
· Lead the Accounts and Payroll team, providing guidance and support on managing the day-to-day financial operations, preparation of management and external financial reporting, and operational analysis
· Provide meaningful and regular financial management information and company financial reports to the executive team
· Ensure and monitor that appropriate robust financial controls, processes and procedures are in place across the business
· Work closely with and assist the CFO/Commercial Director on matters requiring technical accounting knowledge
· Work with staff in line areas to encourage and support financial literacy throughout the company
· Review and finalise annual financial audit requirements including the preparation of financial statements in approved format and in compliance with accounting standards
· Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of financial reports for group subsidiaries and prepare consolidated accounts
· Prepare and submit compliance work such as tax returns, ASIC reports etc.
· Work closely with other members of the Corporate Service team and the Executive in identifying and developing ongoing business solutions for the company
About You
Ideally, your skills and experience should include:
- ACA/CPA or equivalent (essential), coupled with 10+ years practical experience as a senior accountant (preferred)
- Experience in leading and developing a team
- Experience in building and maintaining positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organised, pro-active and able to deliver on multiple competing and strict deadlines
