Through headspace Darwin and Palmerston, we provide early intervention mental health support to young people and their families; creating safe, inclusive spaces for hope, healing and growth.

About the role:

As a Youth Mental Health Clinician, you will:

  • Provide screening, assessment, and goal-focused therapeutic interventions for young people.
  • Conduct complex risk assessments and collaborate on safety and care planning.
  • Deliver evidence-based, strengths-focused support that empowers young people and their families.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team and external service providers to ensure seamless care.
  • Participate in outreach, group work and community engagement activities promoting mental health awareness.

About you:

You'll bring energy, empathy and professionalism, along with:

  • A tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing).
  • Current registration or membership with your relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW, etc.).
  • Experience providing mental health support to young people, including risk assessment and safety planning.
  • A strong understanding of youth mental health, evidence-based interventions, and cultural safety principles.
  • Excellent communication, time management and teamwork skills.

Requirements:
- NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) and National Police Check.
- NT Driver's Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Evidence of current vaccinations in line with role requirements.
