Connected People is proud to partner with a respected Newcastle law firm to recruit a Legal Secretary to support two Family Lawyers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced legal support professional seeking part-time hours within a genuinely supportive team.

The Opportunity

You'll work closely with two Family Lawyers, providing day-to-day administrative and secretarial support across a diverse range of family law matters.

Your role will focus on keeping things running smoothly – managing correspondence, client communication and document preparation – while maintaining a calm, professional and empathetic approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and format correspondence, court and legal documents
  • Manage diaries, emails and appointment scheduling
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, courts and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and maintain client files (electronic and paper)
  • Assist with billing, file openings/closings and general admin
  • Provide proactive support to ensure deadlines are met

About You

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice systems
  • A collaborative and professional attitude with a genuine interest in supporting others
