RivMed is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to provide support to our dentists and dental team. The role is to assist in all aspects of dentistry while providing a safe and respectful environment for patients, that is culturally safe. Who we are
Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a long-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in the heart of Wiradjuri Country.
RivMed works to effect change in the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our community. We work to achieve this through the provision of culturally appropriate medical and well-being services for Aboriginal people and their families.
Selection criteria
- Certificate IV Dental Assisting
- Experience working as a dental assistant
- Motivation to provide service excellence.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrated organisational skills.
- Ability to create a calm environment where clients are often anxious.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to problem solve effectively.
- Ability to negotiate issues with clients.
- Commitment to ongoing participation in education, professional development, evidence based research and quality improvement.
