About the Opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Senior Commercial Analyst who will report to the Supermarkets Finance Manager.  The Senior Commercial Analyst will assist with the accounting and reporting responsibilities of the Supermarkets (IGA) Business. You will act as a 2IC to the Finance Manager with a primary focus on helping lead the month end close, financial and management reporting, compliance and project work. This role will also be a key business partner for national cost centres, providing insights over and above the numbers.

In this Role

• Assist the finance manager with leading month end closure and reporting.
• Responsible for Working Capital reporting requirements for the pillar.
• Drive P&L performance and effective balance sheet management across national cost centres and business partnering with members of the leadership team (cost centre owners).
• Support the team with external auditors during half-year review and full-year audit.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders (finance/non finance personnel) with accounting and all other business queries.
• Improvement to existing processes, including the streamlining of reporting in line with pillar requirements and ensuring consistency in reporting/accounting across State P&Ls

You're Likely a Match If

• At least 5 years work experience in a business or commercial analyst role.
• Possesses an accounting degree or equivalent qualification - ideally CPA or CA certified.
• Advanced excel with strong financial modelling and system skills.
• Strong attention to detail
• Previous experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365, TM1, Power BI, Power Enterprise, Power Query and PowerPivot would be an advantage
