The Opportunity
In this role, you will be working collaboratively with a link-minded peer group of specialist and highly experienced subject matter experts across transmission concept and detailed design projects. Together you will have responsibility to lead the technical excellence and delivery across Beca's Australasian Power Transmission Line, Distribution and engineering technical professional areas to deliver a vast range of critical Power Transmission related projects. You will gain wide-ranging experience through leading and working on a variety of project types that differ in scale, scope, geography and client types supporting the energy transition across Australia and New Zealand.

In This Role, You Will Be

• Working with our Technical Directors and Principals providing critical design verification for highly specialised and complex transmission and distribution projects.
• Ensuring scope, design and delivery projects exceed client specifications, safety, industry technical standards, and delivery requirements.
• Completing and supporting design teams to prepare designs using PLS-CADD and other sector design tools considering structural loads, electrical clearance and extreme weather.
• Coaching and mentoring the next generation of transmission engineering expects empowering them, from graduate to Senior career levels, through on the job coaching.
• Providing subject matter support to Technical Development programs for Transmission engineers.
• Support and provide input into client bidding and proposal preparation processes displaying commercial judgement in understanding design, project, task and project budgets.

About You
You will bring extensive experience in electricity transmission and distribution projects, with a strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering principles demonstrated through the successful delivery of complex projects. Your specialist technical engineering experience will focus on transmission line, distribution and related projects across diverse geographies with expertise across structural load calculations, clearance design requirements and extreme weather. This experience could be from a range of backgrounds such as consulting sector or working for an asset owner in the transmission sector. Extensive concept and design skills are important as well as experience in the associated PLS CADD and Tower design tools.

You are motivated to learn and grow within a team, managing multiple tasks with enthusiasm and a focus on outcomes. You will be leading effective stakeholder relationships and use excellent people and communication skills to clearly explain complex technical issues to both internal and external stakeholders. A relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Structural, Mechanical or related disciplines will be required for this role. In addition, you will be working towards, or have met, the Registered Professional Engineering or Chartered Professional Engineer requirements. Experience working in an engineering consultancy environment is advantageous for this role, however not essential.
