Your new role
Reporting to the PMO Manager, the Senior ICT Project Officer will manage the development, implementation and monitoring of project plans and phases.
This includes the coordination of various activities and resources associated with achieving the project objectives.
They will also manage liaison, communication and coordination with other teams across the department contributing to the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and monitor project services in consultation with stakeholders to ensure identified needs are met.
- Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of policies, practices and procedures.
- Assist in coordinating, organising and promoting the activities identified within the program.
- Undertake project planning, analysis, integrate project activities and evaluate the impact of projects and initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the planning, coordinating, and delivering projects within scope, timeframes, and budget, using established project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, PMBOK etc
- Experience in providing high-quality secretariat services, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and action tracking for leadership and operational meetings.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills, spanning departmental teams and external vendors.
- Strong ability to analyse complex information, assess risks, and develop practical solutions to support project objectives and decision-making processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with government policies, legislative requirements, and financial accountability.
- Skilled in managing document storage systems (such as HP Content Manager, MS Teams or SharePoint) and supporting reporting, risk management, and procedural adherence.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support the successful delivery of tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to pass a Criminal History Check prior to commencement
Previous experience in a similar role within QLD Government would be very highly regarded. Previous experience in similar roles incorporating ICT and HCMS projects would be beneficial, but not essential.
