Description

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Psychologist to join our supportive Children, Youth & Family teams in a flexible part time – 0.6FTE capacity.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Provide quality direct, primary care Psychology services to children and youth with a range of presentations, in a family-centred, interdisciplinary framework, including assessment, individual and group programs, education, and support to parents.Undertake Key Worker role for clients and their families, as requiredOffer parents, carers and / or significant others the opportunity to be involved in the assessment, planning and review of clients' programs and to advise about the options for management. This may involve joint assessment and treatment with other paediatric health professionals.Communicate appropriately and effectively with children, their families and carers, staff and external providers.Participate in team meetings, case reviews and case presentations as required.Provide outreach services to clients, pre-school, child care centres and other settings where appropriate.Deliver project and grant based activities including School Readiness Funded Allied Health activities.Provide clinical expertise and advice (consultancy) in the area of child and youth psychology to both internal and external staffLiaise with key stakeholders and local service providers and participate in appropriate networks if requiredConduct initial assessments, including a thorough medical and social history, determine appropriate care pathways and make appropriate internal and external referrals.Provide support to psychology students on placement at the Service as appropriate; Ensure that all service delivery and program development apply an evidence-based framework, based on program resource guidelines where available, utilising agreed practice standards for client outcomes and organisational protocols.Ensure timely and accurate collection of appropriate data to meet relevant reporting requirements and to ensure compliance with privacy legislationAssist in the planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement and risk management activities across the organisation, as appropriate

Skills And Experiences

Our ideal candidate:

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology and current Practising Membership status with Australian Health Practitioners' Regulation Authority (AHPRA) as a fully registered psychologist.Alignment with healthAbility's Purpose, Vision and ValuesRegistered or (eligible and willing to register) for Medicare Benefits Schedule/Private health insurance registration as a service provider at healthAbilityRelevant and recent experience as a practising Psychologist working with a range of child and youth populationsProven experience in conducting assessments, diagnostics, and therapy, for children and adolescents with diverse developmental and behavioural needs (see duties and responsibilities).Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalHighly developed interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Strong organisation and time management skills
