ABOUT US

PYBAR – a Thiess Company, is a mining services provider with core competencies in underground hard rock mining. With origins dating back to 1993, our success is based on safe, rapid underground development and consistent, reliable production. We deliver a range of projects, from large established mining operations to greenfield developments across Australia. The services we provide range from mine development, production, cable bolting and drilling, raise boring, shotcreting and fleet.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment, can confidently partner with senior leaders, and brings strong expertise in sourcing and selection for technical and blue-collar mining roles.

You will play a critical role in shaping our workforce capability, managing recruitment campaigns, and coordinating full project mobilisations to ensure our sites are resourced safely, efficiently, and on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for a diverse portfolio of blue-collar, technical, and professional mining roles.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and site leaders, providing strategic advice on sourcing, labour market trends, and workforce planning.
  • Plan and deliver high-volume recruitment campaigns for new or expanding projects.
  • Write job advertisements to attract strong talent.
  • Conduct screening, shortlisting, and behavioural interviews.
  • Manage and facilitate interview processes with hiring managers and project leaders.
  • Manage the coordinator of all pre-employment checks including medicals, references, police checks, VOCs, and qualifications.
  • Build and proactively manage talent pipelines for future project ramp-ups.
  • Provide recruitment reporting, insights, and recommendations to support operational decision making.
  • Drive continuous improvement across recruitment processes and candidate experience.
  • Lead full project mobilisation activities, including:
  • Coordinating large-scale onboarding for new workforces
  • Scheduling medicals, inductions, and site access requirements
  • Managing mobilisation timelines and readiness plans
  • Ensuring compliance with client and site-specific requirements
  • Partnering with site leadership to forecast and meet labour demand

ABOUT YOU

You will bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, ideally within mining, construction, heavy industrial, or other high-volume environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering and coordinating large-scale project mobilisations, including full workforce ramp-ups.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence to influence and partner with senior operational leaders.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, manage shifting priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience planning and executing high-volume recruitment campaigns.
  • High-level communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Why PYBAR?
