Kangaroo Island Children's Services Childcare is dedicated to providing a nurturing and educational environment for children. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Administrator to join our team and contribute to the smooth operation of our childcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director to oversee daily operations of the childcare services
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Ensure compliance with Fairwork industrial regulations
  • Records management
  • Policy development and review
  • Grant applications and acquittals
  • Financial reporting

Qualifications and experience:

  • Management or Business qualifications
  • Proven experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in childcare or education sectors
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of childcare regulations and best practices, including Child Protection
  • Skilled in information and communication technology
  • Experience with accounting software (Reckon, Xero, or similar) for financial record keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Special conditions

  • Obtain or hold a DHS Working with Children Check
  • Obtain or hold a current National Police check (no more than 6 months old)
  • Obtain or hold Responding to risks of harm, abuse and neglect
  • Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
  • Work outside of normal hours and across sites may be required
