About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to support the delivery of a significant digital transformation portfolio. This role will provide leadership across the PMO function, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and robust governance in the delivery of multiple digital programs and projects. You will play a key part in scaling resources, driving standardised practices, and producing accurate reporting and insights to enable effective decision-making.

Must come from utilities background.

The contract will run from 6 October 2025 to 31 March 2026, with potential extensions. The position is based in Ipswich, Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, improvement, and adoption of standard frameworks, processes, and templates to ensure accurate and consistent project delivery.
  • Track and report on schedules, budgets, risks, and issues with real-time data to support clear decision-making.
  • Conduct quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Archive project records for historical analysis and trend reporting.
  • Produce accurate portfolio, program, and project metrics for management reporting.
  • Maintain reconciled financial data and accurate dashboards to highlight progress, variances, and insights.
  • Scale resources and adjust team capability to meet evolving delivery demands.
  • Mentor and coach PMO staff to ensure consistent, standards-oriented practices.
  • Monitor issue resolution and escalation to minimise delivery impacts.

Highly Desirable Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in project, program, or portfolio management.
  • Demonstrated experience with portfolio governance frameworks and methodologies such as MSP, Agile, and SAFe.
  • Proven leadership in developing and maturing digital PMO functions.
  • Advanced reporting, data consolidation, and analysis skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present precise updates and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated success in improving standards-based processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Flexible, proactive, and calm under pressure with a collaborative problem-solving approach.
  • Current open driver's licence.

Skills and Experience

  • Substantial experience in portfolio/program/project delivery offices (PDO/PMO).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and quality control.
  • Ability to coach and mentor teams, promoting repeatable, standards-based practices.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to produce accurate insights and reporting.
  • Experience building trust through authenticity and consistent results, collaborating across teams, and driving for outcomes with efficiency and precision.
