About your Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage GIICA's PMO as the central governance and delivery function for infrastructure programs.

  • Provide strategic leadership and program management expertise across venue and enabling works delivery, including risk management, governance, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Lead program governance, reporting, and assurance processes to ensure transparency, accountability, and strategic alignment.

  • Manage and support Program Directors, working closely with delivery teams to ensure coordinated execution across infrastructure projects.

  • Oversee cross-program dependencies, risks, and issues, providing strategic advice to the EGM Delivery and GIICA Executive Leadership Team.

  • Foster strong relationships with central agencies, delivery partners, local councils, and community stakeholders.

  • Champion continuous improvement in program management practices.

  • Support procurement, contract management, and financial oversight across infrastructure programs.

  • Champion sustainability and accessibility across all infrastructure programs, ensuring planning frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and delivery strategies reflect inclusive design principles and environmentally responsible practices.

  • Represent GIICA in high-level forums, negotiations, and stakeholder engagements related to program delivery.

  • Foster a high performing, collaborative culture by leading, mentoring and empowering the team, ensuring alignment, accountability and resilience.

  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by promoting a safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety requirements, including mandatory training for all team members.

  • Ensure strategic oversight and disciplined management of the division's budget.

About You

  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field

  • Bring 10+ years' senior leadership experience in planning and environmental management within infrastructure or government

  • Demonstrate expertise in Commonwealth and State planning legislation, including the EP&A Act 1979

  • Lead complex planning approvals and environmental compliance processes with confidence

  • Engage effectively with government, community and delivery partners to build trust and alignment

  • Inspire multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments

  • Apply strategic thinking and risk management to drive program success

  • Contribute experience in Games or major event infrastructure delivery (highly regarded)

  • Understand Queensland's planning frameworks and environmental regulations
